CAIRO: Majlis Ash’shura took part in the second plenary session of the second term of the fourth legislative chapter of the Arab Parliament, held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, on Saturday.


The session reviewed the report of the Arab Parliament’s Palestine Committee, as well as reports from the four standing committees: the Foreign Affairs, Political Affairs and National Security; the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee; the Legislative and Legal Affairs and Human Rights Committee; and the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women’s and Youth Affairs Committee.


The session also discussed several proposals, including establishing an Arab Women Parliamentarians Forum and setting up a Forum of Young Arab Parliamentarians.


Majlis Ash’shura earlier participated in the meetings of the Bureau of the Arab Parliament and the meetings of its standing committees.


Shaikh Said bin Hamad al Saadi, Deputy Chairman of Majlis Ash’shura and Vice-President of the Arab Parliament, participated in the meeting of the Legislative and Legal Affairs and Human Rights Committee. The meeting discussed an Arab parliamentary vision for consumer protection in the Arab world as well as the draft general framework and themes of the 2025 report on the state of human rights in the Arab world.


Hamid bin Ali al Nasseri, a member of Majlis Ash’shura, participated in the meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee, which discussed several financial and administrative matters, including a presentation on the mechanisms and procedures proposed to support the Palestinian economy. The committee also discussed preparations for a conference to support the blue economy in the Arab countries and the preparation of a parliamentary guide on artificial intelligence. — ONA
