MUSCAT: The Research and Innovation Authority announced the Omani innovative projects qualified to represent the Sultanate of Oman at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions in its 51st edition. The announcement was made during a ceremony held at the German University of Technology (GUtech) in Muscat.


The ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Saif bin Abdullah al Haddabi, Chairman of the Research and Innovation Authority, in the presence of Dr Hussein bin Suleiman al Salmi, Vice-Dean for Financial and Administrative Affairs at the German University of Technology, along with a number of officials, academics and innovators.


This announcement comes within the framework of national efforts to enhance the research and innovation ecosystem, translating the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 aimed at building a knowledge-based economy, empowering national competencies and supporting innovation as a main pillar for sustainable development.


The ceremony featured a presentation of the distinguished innovative projects that passed the evaluation stages by a specialised judging committee. A total of 118 innovative projects were submitted, of which 20 projects qualified for the final stage. The results led to the selection of 4 projects to represent the Sultanate of Oman at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions. - ONA
