AL BURAIMI: Specialists at the Environment Authority’s Biodiversity Department, Governorate of Al Buraimi, recently sighted and documented the presence of the Eastern Imperial Eagle in Al Buraimi Oasis Nature Reserve. The bird of prey was spotted roaming the nature reserve’s towering mountains — evidence that the sanctuary serves as an important natural habitat for such birds of prey. The Eastern Imperial Eagle is a migratory bird of prey that visits the region during winter, hailing from its breeding grounds in northern Asia and eastern Europe. — ONA
