The world of competitive gaming has taken centre stage at Muscat Nights, with the ‘E-sports Legends’ tent in Al Amerat Park drawing crowds of all ages through its immersive blend of virtual reality, simulation and competitive electronic games.
Part of the festival’s diverse entertainment offering, the sprawling 3,000-square-metre e-sports tent delivers an interactive journey powered by cutting-edge technology, transporting visitors into the heart of the digital gaming universe.
From the moment guests enter through a circular tunnel animated with e-sports visuals, they are led into a dynamic space packed with modern games for children and adults alike.
Adil al Balushi, Project Manager, E-sports Legends tent, thanked Muscat Municipality for giving Al Angham Al Thahabiya Company the opportunity to participate in Muscat Nights, noting that the tent features around 23 virtual reality games alongside PlayStation, Xbox and car simulation zones.
“The tent immerses participants in a fantasy world where they experience gaming first-hand,” he said.
“We host weekly weekend competitions with cash prizes, including Minecraft, Tekken 8, FIFA 26, Rocket League and Valorant, attracting strong participation from gaming enthusiasts.”
Winners of the competitions received prizes of RO 200 for first place and RO 100 for second place in Minecraft, Tekken 8, FIFA 26 and Rocket League, while the Valorant tournament offered RO 1,000 for first place and RO 500 for second place.
This year’s edition has introduced new experiences, including motorsport simulation games and the ‘smart world’ concept, allowing audiences to interact directly with electronic games — a major upgrade from last year’s purely digital car competitions.
Beyond entertainment, Muscat Municipality highlighted the economic and social impact of Muscat Nights, stressing its role in supporting Omani companies and job creation.
Al Angham Al Thahabiya Company, an Omani firm specialising in theatrical and visual productions, employs around 30 Omanis and is among the local enterprises benefiting from the festival.
The municipality reaffirmed that Muscat Nights continues to act as a key economic driver, increasing participation of Omanis and SMEs, promoting seasonal employment, professional development and expanding local economic impact.
