MUSCAT: Seeb Club produced a memorable comeback victory after defeating Saham Club 3–2 at Sohar Sports Complex in the second leg of the quarterfinals of His Majesty’s Football Cup, sealing their place in the semifinals following a dramatic and high-quality encounter.

The match kicked off with a strong and confident start from Seeb, who entered the game as the favourites and immediately imposed their style through controlled possession and attacking intent. Despite their early dominance, Seeb struggled to create clear cut chances, as Saham maintained good defensive organisation and gradually began to grow into the match.

As the first half progressed, Saham capitalised on defensive errors to take control of the scoreline, in the 25th minute, Marwan al Ghafri opened the scoring for Saham after meeting a well-delivered corner kick. Taking advantage of a defensive lapse inside the penalty area, Al Ghafri finished confidently to give his side the lead.

Shock followed almost immediately, as Saham doubled their advantage just one minute later, team captain Mohsin Jawhar capitalised on a costly mistake by Seeb defender Ahmed al Khamisi, intercepting the ball before calmly slotting it past the goalkeeper to make it 2–0 and put Saham firmly in control.

Despite the setback, Seeb showed resilience and determination, continuing to press forward in search of a goal that could revive their hopes. Their efforts were rewarded in stoppage time at the end of the first half, when Marwan Toaib reduced the deficit, the goal came from an excellent cross by Nasser al Rawahi, allowing Seeb to go into the break trailing 2–1 and keeping the contest wide open.

The second half belonged entirely to Seeb, who returned with renewed intensity and clear attacking purpose. Five minutes after the restart, Zahir al Aghbari scored the equaliser in the 50th minute, once again finishing from a precise cross delivered by the influential Nasser al Rawahi.

Momentum continued to swing decisively in Seeb’s favour, and in the 54th minute, Marwan Taib completed the comeback by scoring his second goal of the match, giving Seeb a 3–2 lead and completing a remarkable 'remontada' that ignited celebrations among their supporters.

Following the third goal, Seeb demonstrated tactical discipline and defensive solidity, successfully neutralising Saham’s attempts to respond and preserving their advantage until the final whistle. The victory secured Seeb’s qualification to the semifinals based on the aggregate result of the two legged tie.
