Nizwa: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested nine individuals for causing public disturbance and endangering lives by engaging in reckless driving and vehicle racing in Wilayat of Nizwa, according to an official statement.

Police said the individuals were apprehended for deliberately disturbing public peace and residential tranquillity by revving vehicle engines loudly and racing on public roads. These actions, authorities noted, posed a serious risk to their own lives as well as the safety of other road users.

The arrests were carried out by the command of the Interior Governorate Police, which confirmed that the violators were taken into custody following monitoring and field action in the area.

The Royal Oman Police added that legal procedures against the suspects are currently under way in accordance with the law.
