Honourable Lady tours key tourism landmark in Musandam

Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed Al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman today paid a visit to the Governorate of Musandam.

The visit included Bassa Beach Park in the Wilayat of Khasab, one of the tourism and development projects in the governorate. It serves as a recreational space for the people of the governorate and its visitors, and embodies the ongoing development efforts in the tourism sector.

The Honourable Lady also visited the 'Zaree Khasab' Exhibition Project initiative, as well as the outlet of the Craft House affiliated to the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority in the governorate. During the visit, she viewed the handicrafts, artisanal works, jewelry, and unique products included in the two projects, masterfully created by the skilled hands of the governorate's craftsmen, carrying in their details an authentic heritage character of Musandam and reflecting the diversity of the local environment and the richness of its cultural heritage.

The Honourable Lady commended the efforts made in highlighting Omani craft heritage, supporting traditional industries, and encouraging initiatives that contribute to strengthening the community economy.

She also toured the Wilayat of Bukha, where she visited the historic mosque in the center of the wilayat. She was briefed on the civilizational and religious value of this Islamic landmark, its indication of the care Omanis have given to Islamic architecture since ancient times, and the authentic artistic and architectural features it carries.

The Honourable Lady also visited the Musandam Females Market affiliated to the Omani Women's Association in the Wilayat of Khasab. The market featured diverse pavilions that embodied aspects of Musandam Governorate and reflected its rich authentic heritage, entrenched social customs, and traditional lifestyles expressing the depth of local identity and its cultural distinctiveness.

At the Market, she listened to a briefing on the community roles undertaken by the Omani Women's Association in the Wilayat of Khasab, alongside other associations in the governorate, in supporting productive families, empowering women, enhancing community participation, and developing craft skills. This contributes to preserving and nurturing cultural heritage and entrenching the values of authenticity and belonging in society.

The Honourable Lady expressed her appreciation for the efforts made and the commendable initiatives, and the positive impact they have achieved in serving the community, wishing those in charge continued success.

During her tours, the Honourable Lady was accompanied by Sayyid Ibrahim Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam, as well as some female ministers and senior officials.
