ANKARA: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, held talks with Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, in Ankara on Thursday. The two ministers expressed their satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and the continuous growth in various fields of cooperation.

They also discussed the outcomes of the visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Türkiye to the Sultanate of Oman last October, and the resulting understandings that strengthened the level of partnership between the two countries and contributed to giving an additional boost to the course of relations. They discussed developments in Syria, emphasising the importance of supporting efforts to consolidate stability and respect Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity, which contributes to strengthening security and stability in the region. The ministers also addressed developments in Yemen. Sayyid Badr said that the meeting was a continuation of the momentum gained in relations following the visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to Türkiye in 2024 and the visit of the Turkish President to the Sultanate of Oman at the end of 2025. Fidan praised the strength of Turkish-Omani relations, commending the constructive role played by Oman in supporting dialogue and bridging viewpoints. — ONA
