MUSCAT, JAN 8

Al Bashayer strengthened their chances of clinching the 2025–2026 Oman Basketball League title after securing a vital 72–65 victory over Seeb in the headline match of Round Three of the finals, while Nizwa continued their impressive form with a commanding 104–63 win over Salalah. The two matches were held at the auxiliary hall of the Bausher Sports Complex.

With these results, Al Bashayer raised their tally to 14 points to remain top of the standings and move a step closer to the championship. Seeb sits on 12 points, Nizwa climbed to 10 points, while Salalah remain on 8 points.

NIZWA VS SALALAH... TOTAL CONTROL AND A DOMINANT VICTORY

Salalah made a positive start and took the early lead, but Nizwa quickly imposed their rhythm through superior organisation and technical quality, turning the game around and gradually extending their advantage with disciplined offence and solid defence.

Kingsley, Mohammed al Angoudi, Saeed Ghassan and Akram al Rashdi were outstanding for Nizwa in both scoring and playmaking. At the same time, Ayman Mustahil was Salalah’s standout performer, supported by Majed al Shajabi and Ahmed al Jahwari.

Nizwa ended the first quarter ahead 26–14 and maintained their dominance in the second to go into halftime leading 52–34. They continued to press in the third quarter as Salalah’s concentration dipped, stretching the margin to 83–54, before sealing a comprehensive 104–63 victory with a strong final quarter performance.

AL BASHAYER VS SEEB... EXPERIENCE DECIDES THE SUMMIT CLASH

In the second match, Al Bashayer claimed a crucial win over Seeb in an exciting encounter marked by constant momentum swings. Although Seeb started strongly and led 24–19 at the end of the first quarter, Al Bashayer’s experience and composure gradually shifted the balance of the game.

Osama al Riyami, Damonte Harris, Hadid Bait Bakhit, Saeed al Saadi, Mahmoud al Souli and Ahmed al Halahli led Al Bashaer’s scoring effort, while Jawad Adekuya, Ayman al Mahrami and Marwan al Haddadi were the standouts for Seeb.

Al Bashayer rallied in the second quarter to turn the score in their favour and go into halftime leading 37–34, before extending their advantage to 59–54 by the end of the third period. As Seeb closed the gap to just one point in the final quarter, Al Bashayer relied on their defensive discipline and attacking efficiency to secure a hard-fought 72–65 victory.
