NIZWA: The Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah is witnessing the implementation of public service projects in the electricity, water and sanitation sectors to the tune of more than RO 319 million.

The projects are part of efforts undertaken by Nama Group subsidiaries to enhance the efficiency of infrastructure and improve the quality of services provided to citizens and residents across the governorate's wilayats. The initiative aligns with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 to realise developmental sustainability and enhance the readiness of vital services.

Eng Yousef bin Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Head of Technical Affairs at Nama Electricity Distribution Company, said that projects carried out by Nama Electricity Distribution Company in different wilayats of the governorate include upgrading the Adam 33 kV substation and the construction of two new substations in Birkat Al Mouz and in Samayil Industrial Area at a cost exceeding RO 5.1 million.

The Birkat Al Mouz substation was commissioned before last summer, while the remaining two substations (Birkat Al Mouz and in Samayil Industrial Area) are expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2026, Al Mahrouqi explained. - ONA
