The Ministry of Labour (MoL) said that it has reported cases involving the forgery of professional classification certificates and licenses to practice professions.

Such acts constitute a clear violation of the laws and regulations in force in the Sultanate of Oman, it said.

The Ministry emphasised the obligation of all employees and companies to ensure that professional classification certificates and professional practice licenses are obtained exclusively from the competent authorities (Sectoral Skills Units), to verify their authenticity upon issuance, and to strictly refrain from using or accepting any non-compliant or unauthorized documents.

The Professional Classification Certificate and the License to Practice a Profession are important to
verifying an individual's readiness and eligibility to practice the intended profession, ensuring professional competence and quality of performance, regulating the labour market and enhancing professional standards, as well as organizing the relationship between employees and employers in the private sector, protecting employers and beneficiaries from unlawful practices, and promoting integrity and transparency within the work environment.

The Ministry affirmed that any act of manipulation or forgery shall expose the perpetrator to legal accountability and the application of the penalties and procedures prescribed under the applicable laws.
