The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism will appoint a specialized consultancy firm to conduct a comprehensive engineering study of the Oasis Wall of the Bahla Fort Archaeological Site, including planning, surveying, digital documentation, and design,  in accordance with international standards.

The scope of the work includes preparing a precise engineering and architectural survey of the entire area of the wall, which is 12 km, and providing a technical vision, a preliminary document for the phased scheduling of project works, and preparing estimated schedules for the proposed intervention works. The prized bid for selection of bids for the project was opened on December 28.

The Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its ancient walls and stunning architecture, invites tourists to step back in time and immerse themselves in the history of the region.

The extensive wall with watchtowers enclosing the labyrinth of mud brick dwellings and cultivatable land has several gateways. The oasis is watered by the falaj system of wells and underground channels bringing groundwater from distant springs, and by the management of the seasonal flow of water.
