MUSCAT: Karwa Motors announced the production of a new bus designed to meet the needs of mass transit with high efficiency, with a focus on performance and safety, as part of its efforts to enhance the automotive industry in the Sultanate of Oman, and keep pace with the demand for public transport vehicles.


The launch of the new bus comes as part of Karwa’s commitment to providing practical and safe transportation solutions that meet the requirements of government agencies and institutions in the market.


The bus, dubbed the 'Karwa Minibus' with a capacity of 14 passengers, was designed to meet various transportation requirements, with a focus on operational efficiency and safety.


Dr Ibrahim bin Ali al Balushi, CEO of Karwa Motors, said that the production of the new vehicle represents a new addition as part of the company’s plans to supply the industrial sector with products that meet the demand for mass transportation in Oman and for export, noting that the production of the new 'Karwa Mini Bus' constitutes a step towards building a industry capable of meeting market needs with high efficiency and quality.


He added that the company believes that localising the mass transit vehicle industry is an important pillar for providing safe and reliable transportation solutions that meet the requirements of government agencies and institutions, stressing that the company is keen to ensure that its products are designed according to operational standards that suit the work environment in Oman, with a focus on safety, reliability and operational efficiency.


The company pays great attention to after-sales services through a wide network that includes 23 service stations in various governorates of Oman, and is currently working on expanding its exports to about 10 countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Algeria, Iraq, Nigeria and Ethiopia, with future plans to export to Jordan, Egypt and Tanzania. — ONA
