Muscat: A minor earthquake measuring 2.1 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Arabian Sea on Thursday, according to the Earthquake Monitoring Centre at Sultan Qaboos University.
The tremor occurred at 7:15 am (local time) and was located about 198 kilometres southeast of Sur, at a depth of 12 kilometres.
No damage or casualties were reported.
