MUSCAT: The Omani-Saudi Coordination Council held its third meeting on Monday in Muscat.
The session was co-chaired by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, and Prince Faisal bin Farhan al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting saw the participation of heads of subcommittees and the secretaries of the Council’s General Secretariat, focusing on the strategic partnership between the two neighbouring nations.
At the start of the meeting, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy emphasised that the Coordination Council serves as the primary framework for exploring and following up on joint cooperation initiatives. He highlighted the qualitative progress achieved since the Council's first session, particularly boosting intra-regional trade and joint investments, deepening cooperation in legal and security frameworks, expanding shared initiatives to promote regional travel and heritage and maintaining continuous dialogue on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan al Saud underscored the Council's role as an effective tool for driving bilateral relations forward. He noted that the Muscat meeting is a direct continuation of the second Council meeting held in Al Ula in December 2024.
In a significant concluding step, both sides signed the minutes of the third meeting. This road map is designed to align the bilateral partnership with the ambitious goals of Oman Vision 2040 and Saudi Vision 2030.
This meeting reinforces the deep-rooted historical ties between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, reflecting the direct instructions of the leadership in both countries to achieve full integration. - ONA
