

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, convened an official session of talks at Al Barakah Palace on Thursday. The high-level discussions focused on reviewing the extensive framework of bilateral cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India. The talks explored strategic avenues to expand this partnership and unlock new investment frontiers, with particular emphasis on the sectors of energy, technology, logistics, food security, manufacturing and agricultural production. Enhancing cultural and educational exchanges was also affirmed as a key priority. This collaborative approach is designed to advance the mutual strategic interests and long-term aspirations of both countries. The meeting also featured a substantive exchange of views on the most pressing regional and international developments. The official session of talks was attended from the Omani side by Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister; Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, Minister of Finance; Dr Hamed bin Said al Aufi, Head of Private Office of His Majesty the Sultan; Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority; Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion; Pankaj Kanaksi Gokaldas Khimji, Adviser for External Trade and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion; and Issa bin Saleh al Shaibani, Ambassador of Oman to India.
