The Oman Bowling Committee (OBC) will host the second edition of Muscat International Open Bowling Championships 2026 which will take place from January 13 to 19, 2026, at Seeb Bowling Center. The event will be organised as part of the sports activities of Muscat Nights Festival in cooperation with Muscat Municipality and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MoCSY).

The seven-day championship is expected to attract an elite line-up of bowlers from across the globe, including top players from West Asia, the Gulf countries and other leading bowling nations. Muscat city will once again take centre stage on the international bowling calendar and this event will reinforce Oman’s growing reputation as a regional hub for international sporting events. The tournament will bring together professionals and highly ranked amateurs, promising a week of high-quality competition and exciting performances.

Saif al Fari, member at OBC, said that Muscat International Bowling Championship (MIBC) established itself as one of the most prominent annual bowling events in the Sultanate of Oman.

“The previous edition which was held in January 2025, witnessed outstanding participation and memorable performances. Muscat International Open Bowling Championships aligns with OBC’s strategic vision to promote bowling locally, provide international exposure for Omani athletes, and strengthen Oman’s position as a destination for global sports events."

"In this year's edition, we will aim to raise the bar further in terms of competition level, organisation, and international reach. The championship will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) and is sanctioned as an international event, recognised by bodies such as the International Bowling Federation (IBF) and the ABF. This ensures global standards in officiating, lane conditions and competition format. The event will take place at Seeb Bowling Center which has facilities and challenging lane conditions, will once again serve as the official venue. The centre has a proven track record of hosting major events and is well-equipped to meet the technical demands of top-level international bowling,” he added.

Oman’s star Musab al Adawi had emerged as the tournament’s standout winner in the last edition. His success highlighted the steady progress of Omani bowlers on the international stage and inspired strong local interest in the sport.
