His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik conferred the Order of Appreciation upon Gilbert Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labour Organisation (ILO). This honour recognises the ILO official’s efforts and contributions in multiple fields to advance international cooperation. The order was presented by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, during his reception of the distinguished guest at Muaskar Al Murtafaa. The ceremony was attended by Dr Mahad bin Said Baowain, Minister of Labour, and Idris bin Abdulrahman al Khanjari, Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations and Other International Organisations in Geneva.
