

SALALAH: Dhofar University celebrated on Sunday in Salalah the graduation of 451 students from the College of Commerce and Administrative Sciences, awarding bachelor’s and diploma degrees as part of its 21st graduating class.
The ceremony was held in the university’s conference hall, attended by university officials, faculty and guests.
Dr Amer bin Ali al Rawas, President of Dhofar University, delivered a speech emphasising that the graduation of this class reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to preparing qualified national cadres, both academically and practically.
He highlighted that the graduates represent exemplary models of academic achievement and personal development, equipped to contribute positively to the community and support Oman’s development process.
He also noted that the university witnessed remarkable academic advancement this year with the introduction of specialised programmes, including a Doctor of Medicine (MD), a Doctor of Philosophy in Law, and a Master of Project Management. The institution continued to invest in national talent through the 'Masar Watan' programme, while enhancing scientific research, which contributed to improving its research output, advancing the university’s global ranking and expanding its international partnerships.
The graduation ceremony included speeches by the graduates and recognition of academically distinguished students, including recipients of the Academic Excellence Award.
It is worth noting that the total number of graduates in the 21st graduation this year is 1,332, including 271 postgraduate students, reflecting the university’s growing contribution to higher education and professional development in the Sultanate of Oman. - ONA
