Winners of the 33rd Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran competition announced

MUSCAT: The Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science announced the winners of the 33rd Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition at a press conference on Wednesday.


Habib bin Mohammed al Riyami, Chairman of the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science, unveiled the list of winners.


In the first level, memorisation of the entire Holy Quran, Ibrahim bin Said al Sawafi from Ibri Centre won first place, Sami bin Khamis al Mujrafi from Ibri Centre won second place, and Ahmed bin Hamad al Maamari from Sohar Centre won third place.


In the second level, memorisation of 24 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran, Salem bin Said al Mushrafi from Qurayat Centre won first place, Mohammed bin Khalfan al Ghazili from the Qurayat Centre won second place, and Ali bin Abdullah al Kumzari from Khasab Centre won third place.


In the third level, memorisation of 18 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran, the first place went to Said bin Rashid al Jabri from Al Amerat Centre, Maisam bint Ahmed al Habsiyah from Sinaw Centre won second place, and Salem bin Idris al Rawahi from Samayil Centre won third place.


In Level Four, memorisation of 12 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran, Dhay bint Mohammed al Habsiyah from Ibra Centre came in first place, while the second place went to Mohammed bin Said al Dhuwayani from Barka Centre, and Ahmed bin Ali al Kindi from Samayil Centre came in third place.


In Level Five, memorisation of 6 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran, Tasneem bint Salem al Shibliyah from Ibra Centre came in first place, followed by Jumana bint Mahdi al Qasmiyah from Ibra Centre in second place and Mohammed bin Hilal al Badai from Al Suwaiq Centre in third place.


In Level Six, memorisation of 4 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran, Muayyad bin Hilal al Hasani from Bausher Centre came in first place, followed by Zakaria bin Abdullah al Badai from Al Suwaiq Centre in second place and Husna bint Dawood al Jabriyah from Ibri Centre in third place.


In Level Seven, memorisation of 2 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran, Astoura bint Fahd al Shamsiyah from Sohar Centre came in first place, followed by Al Muzn bint Hilal al Hamhamiyah from Ibra Centre in second place and Lujain bint Abdulaziz al Hasaniyah from Bausher Centre in third place.
