

MUSCAT: The preliminary rounds of the 33rd Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition kicked off on Sunday in Muscat, held in the lecture hall of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Bausher.
Dr Said bin Humaid al Dhoyani, Vice-President of the Preliminary and Final Rounds Committees, stated that 154 competitors are participating at the Bausher centre across seven levels: Memorising the entire Holy Quran; Memorising 24 consecutive parts; Memorising 18 consecutive parts; Memorising 12 consecutive parts; Memorising 6 consecutive parts; Memorising 4 consecutive parts and Memorising 2 consecutive parts.
Organised by the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science, the competition aims to instil spiritual values, develop Quranic skills, and encourage healthy competition among participants. It also reflects the commitment to memorising the Holy Quran and nurturing gifted youth. — ONA
