

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Economy, through the National Programme for Economic Diversification (Tanweea), on Wednesday reviewed opportunities to strengthen economic integration and maximise local added value during a workshop titled “Enhancing and Sustaining Integrated Economic Clusters”.
The event also examined joint initiatives to support the long-term sustainability of economic clusters in line with national strategic objectives.
Engineer Al Moatasim al Yaaqubi, Executive Director of Tanweea, said the workshop aimed to improve coordination and integration among partner entities, underline their key roles in implementing economic clusters and establish a unified framework to achieve strategic goals while enhancing overall operational efficiency.
He noted that the discussions focused on implementing several recommendations, including developing a unified integration framework, setting up a joint follow-up mechanism, adopting a clear map of roles and responsibilities; and designing practical initiatives to enhance cluster readiness and stimulate investment.
Organised by the Ministry of Economy with the participation of relevant government and private-sector entities, the workshop forms part of national efforts to support sustainable economic development by strengthening the capacity of integrated economic clusters to generate greater added value for the national economy and ensure more effective implementation of diversification initiatives.
