MUSCAT: Al Amerat Club secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the Youth Basketball League after earning a dominant 94–18 victory over Al Bashayer, finishing at the top of their group with 12 points, while Qurayat qualified in second place. The match was played at the secondary hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.


Al Amerat entered the game with great energy and determination, relying on quick movement and early pressure on the ball carrier, which helped them score consecutive points through fast breaks and close-range finishes. The team’s standout performers included Sultan al Sinani, Laith al Kindi, Mohammed al Battashi, Noah Brinx and Mohammed al Kharousi, while Al Bashayer relied on their duo of Mazin al Zaidi and Asaid al Kharousi to reduce the damage offensively.


Al Amerat began with clear attacking dominance through accurate shooting inside the arc, in addition to capitalising on fast transitions following steals. Al Bashayer struggled defensively to cope with the high pace of their opponents, ending the first quarter trailing 33–2.

The high-pressure approach continued from Al Amerat, forcing Al Bashayer into multiple turnovers and further boosting Al Amerat’s offensive efficiency. The team showed strong cohesion between midfield and attack, adding 20 more points while preventing Al Bashayer from scoring any during this quarter, closing the first half with a commanding 53–2 lead.


In the third quarter, Al Bashayer attempted to improve their offensive output, managing to score 10 points through the efforts of Mazin al Zaidi and Asaid al Kharousi. However, Al Amerat remained the dominant side, adding 33 more points thanks to quick passing under the basket, ending the quarter comfortably ahead 86–12.


Al Amerat entered the fourth quarter full of confidence from their wide lead, as the coach rotated players to allow more squad members to participate. Despite the changes, the team maintained its attacking superiority, scoring eight more points versus six for Al Bashayer. When the final whistle blew, Al Amerat celebrated a convincing 94–18 victory and their qualification to the next round.


The match officials were international referee Thabit al Hinai as the first referee, Ghalib al Hasani as the second referee, while the table crew consisted of Huda al Hinai, Aisha al Balushi and Moosa al Siyabi.
