MUSCAT: Seeb Club continued their impressive run in the 2025–2026 General Basketball League after securing a dominant 125–48victory over Salalah, in the match hosted at the secondary hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.
Seeb controlled the game from start to finish, capitalising on the outstanding performance of several key players who played a major role in widening the gap. The scoring was led by Rashid al Zuhaybi, Abdulrahman al Shaibi, Al Waqqas al Hinai, Ahmed al Sinani, Azzan al Ajmi, and Ahmed al Maamari, while Salalah relied on efforts from Mehab al Balushi and Qaiser al Balushi to stay in the contest.
Seeb opened the game with high pressure, relying on quick movement and effective passing inside the paint. Abdulrahman al Shaibi opened the scoring with successful shots, followed by Marwan al Hadeedi to extend the lead. Despite Salalah’s attempts to respond through fast breaks, Seeb’s solid defence forced multiple turnovers, allowing them to close the first quarter ahead 27–12 with a well-balanced offence and defence.
The momentum continued in the second quarter as Al Waqqas al Hinai made a strong impact with decisive drives to the basket, while Ahmed al Sinani added long-range shots from beyond the arc. Although Salalah attempted individual solutions through Mehab al Balushi and Qaiser al Balushi, Seeb’s organised defence prevented any significant comeback. Seeb scored 33 points against 10 for Salalah in this quarter, ending the first half with a commanding 60–22 advantage.
Seeb demonstrated clear technical and physical superiority in the third quarter, taking advantage of Salalah’s fatigue by increasing pressure on their basket from all angles. Rashid al Zuhaybi, Azzan al Ajmi, and Ahmed al Maamari rotated in scoring with quick transitions and ball steals from mid-court. This dominance allowed Seeb to add 34 points, while Salalah managed only 13, finishing the period 94–35 in Seeb’s favour.
With a firm lead heading into the final quarter, Seeb remained determined to stretch the difference and elevate their scoring tally. Their fast tempo and sharp penetrations continued, while Salalah’s defence struggled under constant pressure and quick ball circulation. Seeb added 31 more points compared to 13 for Salalah, sealing a massive 125–48victory.
The match was officiated by Rashid al Mushaifri as crew chief, Ali al Sulaimani as the second referee, and Taher al Amri as the third referee. On the scorer’s table were Maryam al Zadjali, Aisha al Balushi, and Moosa al Siyabi.
