MOCIIP deletes over 42,000 inactive CRs

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP) has implemented a Regulatory Framework, the largest of its kind since the establishment of the Commercial Register (CR), in the Sultanate of Oman, by deletion more than 42,000 inactive and expired commercial registrations during four consecutive phases.

The procedure is based on the provisions of the Commercial Registration Law and its Executive Regulations, and in coordination with the competent authorities to ensure compliance with the legislation and protect the rights of the owners of the Relationship.

Nasra bint Sultan al Habsiya, Director General of Commerce at MOCI said, "The deletion of inactive CRS came after a careful review of the reality of commercial records, and after ensuring they are free from any obligations with the Tax Authority, the Ministry of Labor and the Royal Oman Police, in addition to publishing the lists of records to be deleted for 30 days in accordance with legal procedures rapporteur.

The first phase included the deletion of 3,410 records dating back to the period (1970-1999), while the second phase included the deletion of 35,000 records for the period (2000-2020), followed by the third phase that covered 1,116 CRs and the fourth phase package that included the deletion of 2,638 records during the period from March to November 2025.
