In a national move that reflects the solidarity between the financial and sports sectors in the Sultanate of Oman, Sports Makers has announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with Bank Nizwa, the leading and most trusted Islamic bank in the Sultanate of Oman, to sponsor the participation of the Socca Oman team , represented by the Bank of Nizwa team, in the Socca World Cup 2025 to be held in Cancun, Mexico from November 28 to December 7, 2025.
The agreement was signed by Khalid al Kayed, Chief Executive Officer of Bank Nizwa, while Waleed al Obaidani, Chief Executive Officer of Sports Makers Company, signed on behalf of Sports Makers Company. The signing was attended by a number of officials, media professionals and those interested in sports affairs in the Sultanate of Oman.
This partnership comes within the framework of Bank Nizwa's commitment to supporting community, youth and sports initiatives, and enhancing the Sultanate of Oman's position in international forums. The participation of the "Socca Oman" team in the next edition of the global championship is an important national entitlement, especially after the historic achievement achieved by the team in the 2024 edition, which was hosted by the Sultanate of Oman on its soil, in which it was crowned the championship title for the first time in its history, amid widespread international praise for the organisation of the Sultanate of Oman and the level of the team.
Commenting on the occasion, Khalid al Kayed, Chief Executive Officer of Bank Nizwa, said: "At Bank Nizwa, we are proud to support this national sports initiative that reflects the spirit of giving and competitiveness among Omani youth. For his part, Waleed al Obaidani expressed his pride in signing this partnership with Bank Nizwa, noting that institutional support from the banking sector is a key element in the sustainability of the sports project. Our World Cup win last year was the result of everyone's cooperation, and today we are bringing the ball back with greater ambition and with stronger support.
