MUSCAT: The Ministry of Interior on Thursday saw the convening of the second annual meeting between governors and Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidy, Minister of Interior.


The minister lauded the governors' efforts to improve the levels of performance in their respective governorates.


He encouraged the governors to maintain the lofty standards and achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.


The minister stressed the need to enhance integration between the roles of the governorates and other institutions of the state.


He urged the governors to harness available resources and utilise them to meet the needs of citizens.


The minister and the governors reviewed various topics on the agenda and took relevant decisions.


The meeting laid special emphasis on expanding the use of information technology and applying its electronic programmes in coordination with the departments concerned, with the prime aim of streamlining procedures and enabling users to easily follow up and finalise their transactions. - ONA
