

AL RUSTAQ: The Directorate-General of Social Development in Al Batinah South Governorate held a ceremony in the Wilayat of Al Rustaq to mark the “International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025”.
The event was organised in cooperation with the Department of Culture, Sports and Youth in the governorate.
The ceremony was attended by more than 120 persons with disabilities who are enrolled at Al Wafa Centre for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in Al Rustaq, as well as members of private rehabilitation centres and disability-afflicted students who are integrated into government schools.
The event included training and artistic workshops aimed at developing the skills of the participants. The ceremony also included a sports programme that saw the participation of persons with disabilities. The programme aimed to foster a spirit of positive competition.
The event was in pursuance of government efforts to highlight the potential of persons with disabilities and consolidate the concept of social accommodation of this segment into society.
