MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education (MoE) on Wednesday felicitated 73 male and female students who won the 2024-2025 Holy Quran Competition.

A ceremony to this effect was held in Muscat under the auspices of Dr Laila bint Ahmed al Najjar, Minister of Social Development.

The competition included three main categories: The “General Memorisation Contest”, the “Special Memorisation Contest” and the “Good Intonation (Tajweed) Contest”.

The “General Memorisation Contest” was dedicated to students in the early education stage (basic education and post-basic education) in government and private schools.

The “Special Memorisation Contest” was dedicated to students with disabilities, including those from private schools and schools that implement the system of auditory and intellectual integration. It targeted students with visual impairments, intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder.

The “Good Intonation (Tajweed) Contest” was dedicated to students who master the recitation of the Holy Quran, both in terms of vocal capacities and application of correct pronunciation rules and intonation. - ONA
