Oman’s National Day is more than just a public holiday with celebrations, parades, fireworks and cultural activities. It is a time for the public to reflect on what the country has become and what it hopes to become. Each year the nation’s residents and citizens pay tribute to the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and his vision; and update the Oman’s National Day celebrations to reflect the country’s continued modernisation under His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. The Oman’s National Day celebrations reflect the country’s growing unity and spirit of heritage. They provide an opportunity for the public to examine the country’s economic plans. One of the plans, In-Country Value, has become the main focus of the country’s ICV.
This holiday showcases the country’s achievements such as improvements in infrastructure, industry and people. These accomplishments come as a result of the ICV Vision and the efforts to improve and develop the elements of the country.
The ICV has created local impact to develop local talent. With the establishment of training programmes, skill sets and scholarship initiatives, the workforce in Oman is equipped to fill the skill gaps that exist in numerous sectors. This phenomenon helps reduce the reliance on the imported workforce and the skill sets that come with it; for the young job seekers, it increases the supply of job openings. While the families gather during the National Day, many think about how the introduced policies impact the career opportunities of young people in the families.
ICV has created impact for the small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which is the ICV impact on the country’s economic diversification. It has also empowered the SMEs economic impact as it persuaded large corporates to spend on local supplies. The corporates ICV has sponsored and engaged local corporates. Success local businesses due to ICV sponsored and engaged corporate local businesses are promoted during the National Day.
Economic diversification is one of the main pillars of Oman Vision 2040. ICV also influences the diversification of Oman’s economy from solely oil and gas. ICV allows for the construction of Oman’s economy from oil, gas and ICV to the construction of Oman’s economy from oil, gas and ICV to the balance of Oman’s economy to become stronger and more competitive. Growth and balance from ICV also allows for Oman to be more competitive in the region and the world. Because of these reasons, the National Day holiday is a celebration of the past and of the future as well, with the future being centred around economic sustainability and the present around economic diversification.
ICV allows for post development. ICV allows for Oman’s Community Improvement to be in construction and to foster the development of all regions of Oman. Oman’s Social Development and Social Support Integration with the ICV projects grows and it allows the Support Integration of the Social Development and the Protection of the Environment to expand.
The National Day celebration is also a celebration of the impact ICV has made. The National Day holiday is a celebration of the nation and the impact ICV has made on the people of the nation. The celebration of the nation’s identity reminds the people of ICV to develop including and to develop with the nation values.
