International media cover National Day, hail Oman's bilateral ties

MUSCAT: Numerous regional and international media outlets covered the Sultanate of Oman's celebrations of the glorious National Day and the achievements realised across various levels during the Renewed Renaissance era of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.


Several media reports focused on the Military Parade held at Al Fateh Square and the Fleet Parade 2025 which took place under His Majesty's patronage in Muscat Governorate.


China Global Television Network (CGTN) ran a report highlighting the high discipline of the Armed Forces in their various formations and reflecting their commitment to military development and progress.


The weekly newspaper "The East African", published in the Republic of Kenya, highlighted the Fleet Parade 2025 under the title "The East African Oman’s lessons for Horn of Africa on Sea Access". It stated that while Oman may be 3,000 kilometres from the Horn of Africa and is surrounded by the sea, it has never viewed the vast body of water as a barrier. Oman's National Day is linked to the founding of the Al Busaid State, whose origins trace back to the 18th century.


It added that the Royal Navy of Oman soldiers performed a military salute as the Royal Yacht (Fulk Al Salama), with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on board, passed during the Fleet Parade on Al Qurum Beach in Muscat Governorate.


Xinhua News Agency published a story titled: "Oman Open to Chinese Archaeological Cooperation, Highlights Unesco Heritage", explaining that the Sultanate of Oman announced its openness to expand the scope of archaeological cooperation with the People’s Republic of China, as part of its efforts to promote its Unesco-listed sites and expand its international research partnerships.


Russia Today (RT) Channel's website featured a report on “Nizwa... keeping pace with Oman's National Day celebrations", reviewing the celebrations of Omanis in some villages of the Wilayat of Nizwa on the occasion of the National Day. It clarified that, for the first time, it was celebrated on November 20, the day marking the founding of the Al Busaid State, and that happiness filled the faces and hearts of Omanis on this joyous national occasion.


IRNA News Agency discussed in its report the moment when citizens anticipated the passage of the Royal Yacht (Fulk Al Salama), carrying His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, from Sultan Qaboos Port in the Wilayat of Muttrah, in a scene that embodies the authenticity of Omani maritime heritage and the pride of the nation's people in their ancient history, reflecting Oman's maritime past.


"Arabian Times" newspaper covered an event organised by the Ministry of Information with the participation of 59 media professionals from 20 countries, as part of the Sultanate of Oman's glorious National Day celebrations.


Fars News Agency noted in a story about “Achievements and a Promising Future: The Sultanate of Oman celebrates its National Day" that the Sultanate of Oman celebrates a day that embodies the dawn of a new era of national cohesion and great, ongoing achievements, as it continues with confident steps to achieve its comprehensive achievements within the process of its Renewed Renaissance under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.


Under the title "Oman and the Engineering of Foreign Policy", the El Aosboa newspaper of Egypt published an article by the writer Mohamed Hamida, reviewing the Sultanate of Oman's National Day celebration this year on November 20, and the 281st anniversary of the founding of the Al Busaid State.


Mehr News Agency reviewed the Sultanate of Oman's foreign policy based on mediation and the preservation of regional peace and its pivotal role in bringing viewpoints closer and its positions supporting peace and dialogue on various regional and global issues.


The Turkish TRT Channel website displayed a comment stating that the Omanis celebrate National Day in the capital Muscat, where the skies were filled with fireworks displays over video clips of the festive atmosphere in Muscat and the joy of Omanis on this occasion and their interaction with the various shows.


Al Sharqiya Channel of Iraq displayed a picture of the Royal motorcade of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik showing citizens lined up on both sides of the road carrying the flags of the Sultanate of Oman and pictures of His Majesty the Sultan.


Press Trust of India (PTI) published a photo of media professionals from various countries visiting the National Museum in Muscat with the caption.


Rwanda Broadcasting Agency posted a tweet on the X platform saying: "From the vibrant avenues of Muscat to neighbourhoods across every governorate, the Sultanate of Oman is alive with the celebration of the National Day".


A number of media professionals visited the Sultanate of Oman during its glorious National Day celebrations and expressed their admiration for the urban integration between urban development and the preservation of cultural identity, especially after reviewing the National Strategy that reinforces the presence of identity in development projects, and the role of educational programs in establishing awareness of cultural components.


The media delegation hosted by the Ministry of Information was introduced to the landmarks of Muscat, such as the Royal Opera House Muscat and Souq Muttrah, where the harmony between the traditional market on one hand and the modern cultural building on the other was evident, reflecting the Sultanate of Oman's commitment to preserving heritage and presenting it as an authentic element of its national identity.


The visit to the Wilayat of Adam also formed a distinctive stop in the programme, where journalists learned about local dishes and Omani hospitality, and watched folk performances, witnessing the community's connection to their identity and their celebration of the National Day. — ONA
