

BARKA: The Royal Cavalry clinched the title of the National Day Show Jumping Cup for the 2025-26 season, concluding a two-day championship organised by the Oman Equestrian Federation (OEF) at Al Rahba Arena in the Wilayat of Barka. The event drew strong participation, featuring 140 horses from various government cavalry units and private stables competing across six categories.
The championship was held in the presence of Mundhir bin Saif al Busaidy, OEF Chairman, alongside board members, officials from government cavalry units and representatives from the public and private sectors. The competition witnessed high level performances and intense rivalry among riders vying for top honours in this national equestrian event.
DAY 1 RESULTS
The competition opened with Category B ‘130 cm,’ featuring seven horses, Madin bin Said al Yousifi of the Royal Cavalry secured first place riding Wudood, followed by Sultan bin Hamood al Tooqi on Hal Diamond from the Olympic Equestrian Training Centre, while Haider Anwar al Rashid of Al Arabia Stables finished third.
In Category C ‘120 cm’ with six participants, Al Tooqi claimed first place riding Extreme, while Barbara Marta took second aboard Kastar and Jamal bin Hameed al Sheryani secured third on Dames from the Royal Oman Guard.
Category D ‘110 cm’ saw nine competitors, with Anas Najeeb from the Olympic Equestrian Training Centre taking first place, Sultan bin Saif al Foori of the Royal Cavalry came second and Khalid bin Darwish al Subhi of Al Riyan Stables claimed third.
In Category E ‘100 cm’, which featured the largest field with 34 horses, Anwar Abdulqader al Rashid of Al Arabia Stables topped the standings riding King Dom, Tariq bin Ziyad al Balushi from Seeb Equestrian School finished second, while Mutasim bin Abdullah al Rahbi of the Royal Cavalry was placed third on Rajeh.
DAY 2 RESULTS
Category B ‘130 cm’ on the second day was won by Mohammed bin Salem al Hadhrami of the Royal Cavalry riding Thikrayat, with Al Tooqi again taking second place and Al Yousifi securing third.
In Category C ‘120 cm’, Jamal bin Hameed al Sheryani of the Royal Oman Guard captured first place riding Dames, Barbara Marta secured second aboard Golashoka, while Al Tooqi finished third on Extreme.
Category D ‘110 cm’ witnessed Khalid bin Said al Wahibi of Al Riyan Stables claim victory aboard Hansley, followed by Taha bin Ziyad al Balushi of Seeb Equestrian School and Bassam bin Nasser al Ghabshi of the Royal Oman Police in third place.
In Category E ‘100 cm’, Abdulaziz bin Fahad al Busaidy of Al Arabia Stables rode Kan Kan Z to first place, with Al Rahbi taking second and Hilal bin Hamad al Shoukri of Al Said Stables finishing third.
Category E ‘90 cm’, featuring 30 horses, concluded with Wafaa bint Rashid al Hosniyah of the Royal Oman Police winning first place riding Jatha, Fnaida Ahmed of the Olympic Equestrian Training Centre placed second, while Suhaimah bint Harb al Maskariyah of Horsera Centre finished third.
CLOSING CEREMONY
The championship included several family friendly side activities, supported by private sector partners, as well as dedicated spaces for children and multiple food kiosks that enhanced the festive atmosphere.
The competition concluded with a formal award ceremony honouring the top riders in all categories, the event’s patron presented the trophies to the winners of the final category, marking the successful conclusion of this prominent National Day equestrian event.
