Muscat: The Environment Authority has issued a clarification regarding the temporary closure of the Rakhyut–Khorfout–Dhalqut road (currently under construction), confirming that the measure is part of ongoing regulatory efforts to safeguard the protected area and preserve its sensitive ecological zones.

According to the authority, the temporary closure is necessary to manage movement within the reserve and ensure that conservation work proceeds without disruption. The Authority reassured livestock owners that they will be allowed controlled access to inspect their animals when needed, following a coordinated and organised mechanism.

Residents and stakeholders can contact the Environment Authority through its hotline, 1991, for assistance or inquiries related to the closure.

The Authority emphasized its commitment to full cooperation with local communities living adjacent to nature reserves or benefiting from environmental services, noting that such coordination supports the sustainable use of natural resources and the protection of biodiversity.
