Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Tuesday issued a Royal Decree No (96/2025) on establishing a Maritime Buffer Zone Reserve Around Al Hallaniyat Islands in the Governorate of Dhofar.
Article (1) stipulates that a natural reserve named “Maritime Buffer Zone Reserve Around Al Hallaniyat Islands in the Governorate of Dhofar” shall be established and that it shall be allocated the areas whose dimensions are indicated in the annex and map attached to this decree.
Article (2) states that the Chairman of the Environment Authority shall issue the regulations and decisions for the enforcement of this decree in coordination with the departments concerned on condition that the regulations and decisions include the method of management of the natural reserve and regulations organizing public members’ entry to the sanctuary, as well as the prescribed fees, the times of visit, permissible and banned activities therewith and administrative penalties applicable in each case.
Article (3) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on the day following its date
