

MUSCAT, NOV 5
Nizwa Club secured an important victory over Masirah Club with a final score of 71–44, while Al Amerat cruised past Al Bashayer with a 97–27 win, in Week 4 of the Youth Basketball League 2025–26 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher on Tuesday.
In the first match, Nizwa Club managed to defeat Masirah 71-44. The winning team dominated two quarters of the game, while the second quarter saw a balance in performance and score. Masirah managed to win the third quarter, but the scoring difference was in favour of Nizwa, who achieved the victory due to their greater experience, high concentration, and the tactical skills.
Leading the scoring for Nizwa were Adam al Hinai with 21 points, Al Mulhim al Obaidani and Elias al Obaidani, each scoring 10 points and Wael al Busaidy with 7 points. For Masirah, the top scorers were Rashid al Isai with 13 points, Mohammed al Shibli with 10 points and Mohammed al Shawi with 7 points.
Nizwa started strongly in the first quarter, thanks to high concentration in finishing attacks and solid defence, scoring 18 points compared to only 4 for Masirah. In the second quarter, there was a balance between the two teams offensively and defensively, with each team scoring 20 points, ending the first half with Nizwa leading 38-24. In the third quarter, Nizwa regained complete control, relying on high defensive pressure and quick offensive transitions, scoring 24 points compared to just 3 for Masirah, extending the lead to 62–27.
The fourth quarter saw an offensive surge from Masirah, who scored 17 points, but Nizwa's consistent responses limited their comeback attempts, allowing them to comfortably secure the victory. The match was officiated by first referee Taha al Amri and second referee Al Mahdi al Alawi.
AL AMERAT STORM PAST AL BASHAYER
In the second match, Al Amerat achieved a resounding 97-27 victory over Al Bashayer. Al Amerat dominated all four quarters, excelling in both offence and defence. Their focus and superior skills played a significant role in securing the win. Leading scorers for Al Amerat were Sami al Busaidy with 24 points, Mulham al Awaisi with 16 points, Sultan al Sinani with 10 points and Al Yaman al Obaidani and Nawaf al Bahlouli, each with 6 points. For Al Bashayer, Riyad al Riyami led the scoring with 14 points.
In the first quarter, Al Amerat started strongly, scoring 25 points to Al Bashayer’s 8. They continued dominance in the second quarter, extending lead by adding 21 points to Al Bashayer's 10, ending the first half with a 46–18 advantage.
Al Amerat maintained their control in the third quarter, scoring 17 points to Al Bashayer’s 7, before finishing the match with their strongest performance in the fourth quarter, scoring 34 points to Al Bashayer’s 2, resulting in a decisive 97–27 victory.
The match was officiated by first referee Ali al Sulaimani and second referee Saeed al Ghamari.
