Muscat: Dust and haze continued to blanket parts of Muscat on Tuesday as a flow of dust, driven by cold north-easterly winds from Iran, affected the atmosphere over the Sea of Oman and nearby coastal areas.

According to the Oman Met Office, low cloud formation and fog are expected during the late night and early morning hours over parts of Al Sharqiya, Al Wusta, and Dhofar governorates, potentially causing low horizontal visibility.

The dust flow, which impacted North Al Batinah, Musandam, and parts of Muscat Governorate on Tuesday, is forecast to persist on Wednesday.

The highest temperature recorded was 37.6°C in Mahout, while Saiq registered the lowest at 10°C. Satellite imagery earlier showed the dust extending across coastal areas along the Sea of Oman.

A weather forecaster at the Oman Met Office told the Observer that temperatures will remain pleasant, although no rainfall is expected in the coming days.
