OCRF concludes fourth camel race in Barka, Al Bashayer

‘Mhadi’ owned by Mohammed bin Said al Darai recorded the fastest time of the day at 8:08.31 minutes in the Elythaa category over a distance of 5 km at Al Felaij Track during the third and final day of the fourth event of the 2025–26 camel racing season on Monday.


In the Thanaya category, ‘Al Jamarah’ owned by Hamad bin Mohammed al Wahibi achieved the best time of 9:59.05 minutes. While in the Al Hawl category ‘Nashbah’ owned by Sultan bin Abdullah al Khatri clocked the fastest time of the day at 9:57.11 minutes.


In the Elythaa category at Al Bashayer Track ‘Al Alami’ owned by Majid bin Ali al Darai recorded the fastest time of the day at 7:49 minutes. In the Thanaya category, ‘Mulabi’ owned by Hamad bin Said al Habsi achieved the best time at 9:52 minutes. And in the Al Hawl category, ‘Lawahib’ owned by the Royal Camel Corps clocked the fastest time at 9:58 minutes.


The concluding day featured races in the Elythaa category, four year old, over a distance of 5 km, with six rounds held at each venue. Three rounds in each track for Thanaya category, five year old, over 6 km. In addition to three rounds in each venue for Al Hawl categories, six years and above, also run over 6 km.


The final day witnessed strong participation from camel owners across the Sultanate of Oman, marking an exciting conclusion to the fourth event of the annual camel racing programme organised by the Oman Camel Racing Federation.


Cash prizes were awarded to the top 10 finishers, while mementoes were presented to first-place winners in the main rounds across all categories.
