The stage is set for an exciting finale in the 2025/2026 Youth Handball League, as Muscat and Seeb face off tomorrow (Tuesday), in the championship match at the main indoor arena, while Nizwa and Al Oruba will compete earlier in the day for third place.
The final is expected to be attended by Mousa bin Khamis al Balushi, President of the Oman Handball Association (OHA), who will honour the winners and present the awards, reflecting the federation’s continuous support for the development of the sport’s youth base.
Muscat earned their spot in the final after delivering a dominant performance against Al Oruba in the semifinals, claiming a convincing 42–29 victory, from the opening whistle, Muscat displayed a fast paced and well organised game plan, combining a strong defensive structure with sharp attacking transitions, their intensity allowed them to take a commanding 25–9 lead at halftime, effectively controlling the tempo and leaving Al Oruba struggling to keep up.
Despite a spirited attempt from Al Oruba in the second half to narrow the deficit through aggressive pressing, Muscat maintained composure and continued to capitalise on counter attacks, the victory reflected not only the team’s depth and tactical discipline but also the strength of the club’s youth system, particularly after Muscat’s junior team recently secured the national junior league title a testament to the club’s growing investment in young talent.
In the other semifinal, Seeb overcame Nizwa with a solid 31–19 win, the match began evenly, with both sides trading goals and chances in the first half, which ended narrowly in Seeb’s favour 11–10, but the second half saw Seeb shift gears, showing superior stamina and better tactical execution, they dominated possession and space, pulling away steadily to secure a comfortable margin by the final whistle.
With both teams now preparing for tomorrow’s highly anticipated showdown, handball fans can expect a thrilling battle between two of the country’s most promising youth squads, the encounter promises speed, intensity and a showcase of emerging talent that underscores the continued growth of Omani handball.
Meanwhile, Nizwa and Al Oruba will contest the third place match, offering both sides a valuable opportunity to end their campaigns on a positive note after falling short in the semifinals, the day’s matches mark a fitting conclusion to a season that has revealed several rising stars and reinforced the competitiveness of the youth handball scene across the Sultanate of Oman.
