MUSCAT, OCT 22
Following the Royal Blessing of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Royal Academy of Management has launched the first interactive workshop of the 'One Team Initiative for Government' in Muscat Governorate.
The initiative aims to foster an impact-driven mindset within government institutions and emphasise the crucial role of public service. Its ultimate goal is to enhance a shared sense of purpose among all members of the national administrative system, uniting them under the vision of a single, cohesive government team.
In the inaugural year of the initiative, 5,000 employees from 19 government entities within the state’s administrative apparatus will participate. Initially, the implementation will focus on the governorates of Muscat, Dhofar, Musandam and Al Batinah North.
Over the next five years, the initiative will progressively expand to include all employees across the state’s administrative system, at every level of government.
Dr Ali bin Qassim al Lawati, President of the Royal Academy of Management (RAM), emphasised that the launch of the interactive workshops signifies a significant milestone in the One Team Initiative for Government. The initiative, he noted, was introduced in response to the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, highlighting the importance of operating as a unified system and enhancing the positive, effective contribution of individuals within the government workplace.
He stressed the strategic significance of this stage, reflecting the collaborative spirit of the One Government Team and the continuous participation of the targeted institutions at every phase of the initiative.
The initiative was developed following extensive focus group sessions that brought together participants from various professional levels. Drawing on behavioural science and international best practices, the Academy ensured that its approach was firmly rooted in Omani values.
Hilal al Riyami, Head of the One Team Initiative for Government, emphasised that the launch of the interactive workshops marks a pivotal moment in which the Academy directly engages with the first group of national participants contributing to the initiative's goals. He mentioned that this event is the first of 100 workshops planned for the initiative's inaugural year. Additionally, the initiative includes a network of communities to support participants in integrating the initiative's principles into their daily workflows and continuing their journey beyond the one-day workshop experience.
