

BARKA: The second Show Jumping Competition of the 2025-26 season took place on Wednesday evening at the Al Rahba Show Jumping Arena. Organised by the Oman Equestrian Federation, the event witnessed wide participation from various military and civilian establishments, under the supervision and judging of international referee Khalid al Saifi and featured a high level of skill and excitement throughout the rounds.
The evening began with Category ‘E’ at a height of 100 cm, featuring 26 horses, the top spot was
claimed by Rashid bin Amer al Mashaykhi of the Royal Oman Police riding Raad, followed by Hilal binHamed al Shukri on Fami from Al Said Stables, while Ahmed bin Hamod al Wahaibi on De Kran from the Royal Oman Police took third place.
In Category ‘D’ at a height of 110 cm, which saw 12 horses compete, Basem bin Nasser al Ghbashi from the Royal Oman Police claimed first place riding Fifty Fifty, while Taha bin Ziyad al Balushi on Otania from the Seeb Equestrian School came second and Mohammed bin Darwish al Balushi on Vidal from the same school took third.
The competition intensified in Category ‘C’ a height of 120 cm, with five horses vying for the top honours, Jamal bin Humaid al Shriyani from the Royal Guard of Oman secured first place riding Igna, while Barbara on Koster from Al Said Stables came in second.
The highlight of the evening was Category ‘B’ at a height of 130 cm, featuring four horses. The first place went to Sultan bin Hamood al Tooqi on Fantazia from the Olympic Equestrian Training Centre, followed by Mohammed bin Salem al Hadhrami on Thikrayat from the Royal Cavalry and Median bin Said al Yousfi on Wadood, also from the Royal Cavalry in third.
Speaking after the competition, referee Khalid al Saifi praised the strong technical performance and harmony between riders and their horses, emphasising the promising start of the new season and the excellent organisation by the Oman Equestrian Federation.
