Muscat: The 2nd Oman Childhood Conference and Exhibition opened on Tuesday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) under the theme “Horizons of rehabilitation and empowerment in caring for children with disabilities in light of emerging technologies.”

The three-day event, running from October 14 to 16, aims to highlight the role of modern technologies in enhancing rehabilitation and empowerment programmes for children with disabilities, and in facilitating their integration into society.

Organised with the participation of experts, specialists, and practitioners from within and outside the Sultanate of Oman, the conference provides a platform for exchanging expertise, showcasing innovative practices, and discussing inclusive approaches to child development and special needs care.

The accompanying exhibition features various government and private entities presenting educational tools, assistive technologies, and child-focused initiatives that promote inclusivity and empowerment.

As part of the event, the Ministry of Information is hosting a dedicated pavilion offering interactive content designed for children, including digital colouring activities, puzzle games, interactive screens, and creative workshops. The pavilion also provides customised content for children with disabilities and encourages young participants to experience the “little creator’s journey” through engaging media and technology-based activities.

The conference and exhibition continue until October 16, from 10 am to 10 pm, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
