Muscat : The Environment Authority, in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police, has arrested an individual accused of illegally hunting an Arabian gazelle within a protected natural reserve.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect was found in possession of a bag containing the carcass of a gazelle and several related items used in the act. The arrest took place as part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to combat wildlife poaching and protect endangered species in Oman.

The seized items have been handed over to the competent authorities for further investigation, and legal procedures are being completed against the offender.

The Environment Authority reiterated its commitment to safeguarding Oman’s biodiversity and urged the public to report any violations or suspicious activities related to wildlife and natural reserves.
