

MUSCAT: The Seeb Club Hall hosted two exciting matchups in the Youth Basketball League for the 2025–2026 sports season, which ended with Nizwa defeating Seeb 71–36 and Salalah overcoming Al Bashayer 50–30, in games marked by high technical performance and great enthusiasm from all four teams.
NIZWA OUTPLAY SEEB IN STYLE AND SCORE
Nizwa delivered a strong performance against Seeb, securing a comfortable win after a balanced start in the first quarter, before taking full control of the remaining periods.
Leading Nizwa’s scoring were Al Mulhim al Obaidani, Ilyas al Obidani, and Adam al Hinai, while Saif al Yahyai and Jiyad al Kindi stood out for Seeb.
The first quarter ended evenly at 17–17, but Nizwa began to assert dominance in the second quarter, finishing the first half ahead 32–25.
In the third quarter, Nizwa extended its lead through solid defence and fast transitions, scoring 21 points to Seeb’s 7, ending the quarter at 53–32.
The final quarter saw Nizwa maintain its offensive momentum, adding 18 points compared to Seeb’s 4, sealing a well-deserved 71–36 victory.
The match was officiated by Majid al Akhzami as the first referee and Al Mahdi al Alawi as the second referee.
SALALAH DEFEAT AL BASHAYER WITH CONFIDENCE
In the second encounter, Salalah secured a convincing 50–30 victory over Al Bashayer after displaying organised play and clear dominance during the first three quarters, while Al Bashayer showed improvement in the final period.
Salalah’s standout players included Fahad Beit Sanjour, Murshid Beit Abusnasel, and Ghanem Beit Farid, whereas Asid al Khusaibi, Mazen al Zeidi, and Riyad al Riyami were the top performers for Al Bashayer.
Salalah started strong, taking the first quarter 16–8, and continued their offensive pressure in the second, adding 22 points to Al Bashayer’s 8, ending the first half 38–16.
The third quarter saw Salalah widen the gap further, scoring 13 points compared to 3 for Al Bashayer, increasing their lead to 51–19.
In the final quarter, Al Bashayer attempted to narrow the gap, scoring 11 points against Salalah’s 9, but the result ultimately favoured Salalah, who won 50–30.
The game was officiated by Thabit al Hinai as the first referee and Wahib al Sinani as the second referee.
