Sur Industrial City to localize six projects in H1 2025

Sur: Sur Industrial City affiliated with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), received (7) investment applications during the first quarter of 2025. It has localized (6) projects, with a total investment of (13) million Omani riyals, bringing the total cumulative investment in the industrial city to (2.3) billion Omani riyals. The area of ​​the city is 6,602,122 square meters, out of a total developed area of ​​7,796,686 square meters.

Eng Nasser Bin Hamoud al-Mabsali Director General of Sur Industrial City, said: "Madayn is working diligently to implement a number of infrastructure projects in the industrial city. The data collection phase and topographic and hydrographic surveys have been completed and work is underway on the preliminary designs to provide consultancy services and complete the basic infrastructure for the shipbuilding and maintenance area in the industrial city."

Data collection and hydrological studies have also been completed at an early stage and preliminary designs are underway to provide consultancy services for the overall design of the industrial city. Furthermore, 50 projects are being implemented, including the construction of lighting for the energy walkway within the solar green belt project, which was completed thousands of years ago. The industrial city is currently undergoing a study to establish a general cargo and container berth.

He added: "The first half of 2025 witnessed the completion of a number of vital projects in Sur Industrial City, most notably the rehabilitation of the security fence, the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, the air quality monitoring project in the Wilayat of Sur Industrial City, and the al-Hadiah ferry project."

Nasser al-Mabsali explained that Sur Industrial City provides network and road network services only, including the electricity and drainage components.

The area of ​​Sur Industrial City exceeds (36) million square meters, while the number of workers is 2,737 workers, and the number of Omani workers is 55, apart from them, as Sur Industrial City has provided 211 job opportunities for Omanis until the end of the first economic fields of the year 2025.
