The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs has announced that online registration for the 1447 AH Haj season has begun on Tuesday and will continue until October 8.

There has been an overwhelming response to the online electronic registration system on www.hajj.om when it opened to citizens and residents of Oman aged 18 and above. Applicants can register using their civil number, or mobile number if linked to the electronic authentication system (PKI), according to the ministry.

Those who are entitled to the first allocation will be notified from October 14 to 30, and the details of the second allocation will be notified between November 2–6, followed by the third allocation between November 9–11, 2025, a spokesperson from the ministry said.

Speaking to the Observer, Hamoud al Amri, Head of Haj Mission for the Affairs of Pilgrims and Haj Campaigns, said that each year, an Omani Haj Mission is formed to extend support to pilgrims and assist them before, during, and after performing Haj rituals and clarify the doubts that the pilgrims may come across.

"Each year, we make sure that preference for Haj is given to cancer patients, people with chronic diseases and aged people who have not done Haj before," Al Amri said.

The electronic registration system is characterised by transparency and speed in showing the results and sending messages to the eligible ones. This step facilitates early preparation and selection for the citizens and residents who intend to perform Haj and to choose companies specialised in operating Haj missions.

The second Haj and Umrah conference and exhibition, organised by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, will be held from October 22 to 23 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, according to the ministry. The conference represents a realistic platform that brings together all partners who provide services to the pilgrims from the Sultanate of Oman, both locally and internationally, from governmental and private institutions.

“This is a unique platform for all those who are ambitious to perform Haj and Umrah and to get themselves prepared for the same, and this offers a rare opportunity for various stakeholders to come and connect with each other towards the flawless implementation of the procedures,” said a spokesperson from the ministry.

Attendees can expect lively discussions about new ideas and projects to enhance the pilgrimage journey. The exhibition features innovative products and services from participating companies.

The conference is expected to bring together government officials, travel agencies, pilgrimage companies, and businesses from various sectors like healthcare, transportation and technology from across the world.
