MUSCAT, SEPT 22

The 14th Oman Health Exhibition and Conference opened on Monday, drawing strong international and local participation with nearly 160 hospitals and health institutions showcasing their expertise.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Khalid bin Hashil al Muselhi, Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Administrative and Financial Affairs, in the presence of dignitaries who also attended the opening workshop on Investment and Technology in Healthcare.

Speaking to Observer, Rashid al Aghbari, investment adviser to the Minister of Health, underlined Oman’s potential to emerge as a hub for the pharmaceutical industry. “Oman’s political stability, the FTA agreement with the US, proximity to Yemen, Asia and Africa, along with attractive investment incentives, provide a strong foundation to localise pharmaceutical production and ensure medical security,” he said. Currently, Oman is home to 18 entities in the medical consumables and pharmaceutical sector.

The Ministry of Health is represented at the exhibition by the Quality Assurance Center, Directorate of Private Establishments, Drug Safety Center, and the Directorate of Projects and Engineering Services.

This year’s spotlight is on the growing health insurance sector, with the participation of the Financial Services Authority and Oman Qatar Insurance Company, highlighting the importance of integrated healthcare financing in Oman.

Hospitals from Canada, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand and Türkiye are present, offering options for advanced medical treatments abroad while exploring investment opportunities and partnerships in Oman.

The Treat in Oman Pavilion has seen a 30 per cent increase in participation, featuring a wide range of hospitals and clinics including Oman Rehabilitation Center, Asnan Lounge, Aster Royal Hospital, Starcare Hospital, Sukhumvit Hospital, Noor Iranian Poly Clinic, and Free Movement, among others.

The pharmaceutical and medical devices sector is another key highlight, with Muscat Pharmacy joining as a Silver Sponsor alongside leading players such as Philex Pharmaceuticals, Mazoon Pharmacy, Al Mazroui Medical Group, Gulf Med Group, Al Awadi Trading, AWS Distribution Healthcare, Delta Majan, Gulf Trade Links and ISWILL International.

Keeping pace with global trends, the exhibition also showcases innovations in online and home-based healthcare services through participants like Tabibak Home Medical Care and Hospiline.

The Oman Health Exhibition 2025 continues to serve as a vital platform for collaboration, innovation and investment in building a robust and inclusive healthcare ecosystem in Oman.
