Muscat: The Ministry of Labour has announced that all private training activities in the Sultanate of Oman, regardless of type or delivery method, will fall under its direct supervision. This includes training programmes, courses, workshops, and similar activities conducted in person, virtually, or in blended formats.

According to the Ministry, such activities may not be carried out without obtaining the necessary licenses and official approvals from the Directorate General of Private Training Institutions. The move is in line with Ministerial Decision No. (2021/40) regulating the organisation of private training and Royal Decree No. (2024/61), which transferred the vocational training sector to the Ministry of Labour.

The Ministry stressed that conducting private training without a license constitutes a legal violation and will subject offenders to administrative and legal measures, including fines, suspension of activities, and referral to the competent authorities.

Reaffirming its commitment to regulating the training sector, the Ministry said the decision aims to ensure quality and compliance with approved standards. It urged all entities and individuals wishing to engage in training activities to submit licensing applications through the official channels of the Directorate General of Private Training Institutions.
