SUR: The Ministry of Labour on Tuesday organised a forum titled 'The Importance of the National Strategy for Professional Standards in Enhancing Professional Performance' at Sur Municipality.
The forum aimed to highlight the pivotal role of the National Strategy for Professional Standards in improving performance efficiency, enhancing the quality of training and qualification, and ensuring national cadres are ready to enter the job market according to clear and specific standards for each profession.
The forum included detailed presentations on the working mechanism of the National Strategy for Professional Standards.
This strategy is based on developing integrated professional standards in cooperation with specialised authorities and the private sector, and linking them to a professional licensing system that boosts the reliability and qualification of workers in the market.
The forum also reviewed the sectors targeted in the current phase, presented data on the number of standards developed and outlined the ministry's future plans to gradually expand its scope to include all vital sectors.
The mechanism for applying these standards in the practical environment was also showcased. This involves activating sectoral skills units in training institutions and linking them to precise professional assessments.
This ensures that trainees possess the required skills for each profession, contributing to the development of high-quality national competencies. - ONA
