MANAH: The ‘Soor’ Cybersecurity Competition kicked off at the Oman Across Ages Museum, drawing 120 participants from across Oman.
The event aims to boost cyber awareness and sharpen participants’ skills in tackling modern digital challenges through hands-on competitions that replicate real-world cyber scenarios.
Shaikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, highlighted the competition as a pioneering national platform to empower young Omani talent.
He noted it provides an opportunity for participants to demonstrate their abilities in confronting digital threats in a realistic cyber environment.
He added that the competition encourages the safe and responsible use of technology, while fostering a generation capable of safeguarding national cyberspace and adapting effectively to rapid digital advancements. The expected outcomes, he said, will help establish a strong foundation of national expertise supporting Oman’s digital transformation and innovation goals.
The competition targets two main groups: employees and freelancers, and university and technical college students, as well as job-seekers. It is organised by Al Dakhiliyah Governorate in collaboration with Bug Hunters Reward Company. - ONA
