The Sultanate of Oman will welcome Mitchell Hutchcraft, who took a 12,000 km expedition to Mount Everest, the world's longest ever ascent from sea to summit.
As part of his 'Limitless' project, it involved 10,500km cycling from France to India, swimming the English Channel, and a 1,300km run, hike and climb across India from sea level to the summit of Everest.
British expats as well as his Omani well wishers will host Mitch, who will be back in Oman next week, who will share his experiences with the mountaneering fans. "We will be hosting Mitch for the accomplishment on his arrival from his expedition. The whole saga of his expedition is truly inspirational and we hope the interactions will help and support many enthusiasts," said Maggie Jeans.
"As a former British Royal Marine, Mitch is a truly inspirational character and is keen to share his experiences. His motivation on this visit is to help and inspire young Omanis and reveal the secrets of unblocking their full potential," she adds.
He’s now a motivational speaker and will be speaking to the students at UTAS and explaining his theme - Limitless. He has a YouTube Channel with over 35,000 fans and 271,000 Instagram followers.
Mitch will also be hosted by the British Business Forum at the Mumtaz Mahal Hotel on September 21, supported by Europcar. He’ll be attending this event with the British Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman. Mitchell, known to his friends as Mitch, had made a brief stop in Muscat before embarking on the next phase of his grand adventure in December last year and was excited to experience the Omani hospitality along and appreciated its unique blend of modernity and tradition.
Conquering the heights is not new to Mitch. At just 16 years old, he became the first British youth to summit Mount Kilimanjaro. Now, nearly 15 years later, he embarked on a mission to conquer what he has dubbed ‘The Longest Triathlon’ — a remarkable journey that spanned nearly 15,000 km from the shores of Dover to the lofty heights of the Himalayas. His eight-month-long journey, aptly named 'Limitless', incorporates all three modes of travel: land, sea, and air.
Accompanied by his travel partner, Ben Cook, they shared tales of their adventure while awaiting a cargo boat that carried them onwards to Pakistan, enroute to India, during their recent stopover in Muscat. “It has always been a dream we've chased since childhood to become the world's greatest Triathlon champions.
"Beyond inspiring others to embrace a sporty lifestyle, Limitless serves as a platform for us to uplift millions and showcase the transformative power of positivity and the human spirit,” Mitch told the Observer.
